Marketing has been around… well as long as there has been something to sell. Ads are a great look into what a society was up to at that point in time and the current reigning morales (if you don’t believe me check out the ads that have been discovered in Pompey).

Here’s another great collection of ads from yesteryear.

This struck me as surreal. As reported in the Guardian, Priests in France are at a historic low (in numbers). As such, they are turning to social networking to attract new members.

“There is a crisis in vocation,” said French priest and family therapist Stephane Joulain. “We don’t have sufficient numbers to renew the number of priests available for ministry today.”

At that point I was caught in a fit of hysterical laughter due to memories of SNL celebrity Jeopardy.

Cosmic irony, you know no bounds.

How I love the first amendment and its ability to let you convey things, especially with humor, in conversations that normally wouldn’t make it past the first 15 seconds.
